Dark Age of the Force

A Star Wars Story

It's been seven hundred years since a great plague has swept the galaxy, devastating the Jedi and Sith and leaving civilization in ruins. From these ashes, three fledgling empires have arisen, resilient and powerful; the Corellians, the Hutts, and the Mandalorians. Will you pick a side and lead your people to glory? Or will you lurk in the shadows, bent on nothing but your own goals? Step into the Dark Age and carve your name into the stars.

Meet the Crew

Grisha Mercer 37/F/Nar Shaddaa

Orphaned from a very young age, this one-eyed smuggler of all things has a way with guns and can fly just about anything with an engine. She draws the line at sentient merchandise, however; a slaver she is not, and she'd rather shoot someone for suggesting as much before hearing what they have to say. She's not afraid to get her hands dirty with other lines of work, either.

Satira Skirata 35/F/Kamino

Grown in a tube from spliced-up genes, Satira ran away from home and spent some time as a Mandalorian, but that didn't work out and now she flies the star lanes as a bounty hunter, and a good one at that; she insists on bringing her marks in alive, come hell or high water. Having an indomitable will and a forceful personality helps, not to mention a plethora of concentrated Zeltron abilities to lure the unsuspecting into her grasp.

Belzen Rusheer 49/M/???

Mandalore the Purifier, what more can be said? Belzen personally leads the newest Mandalorian Crusade, for honor and glory, swinging twin Mythosaur axes with legendary skill and precision. He's usually busy with the affairs of his war, but he can always make time for a brother or a sister. Don't mistake that openness for weakness, however; he is a ruthless and unfettered warrior who will stop at nothing to ensure the supremacy of his people.

<div class="gtemp-one"><div class="gtemp-two">renown</div><div class="gtemp-three">HOW WELL KNOWN AM I?</div></div>
<Div class="gtemp-four">

Renown is an abstract way of measuring how well known your character is to the galaxy at large. It is optional and confers no concrete effect on your characters, but is useful for judging their fame or determining who could know who at a glance. If you wish to have a renown score assigned to your character, let the staff know before the approval process and we'll work it out according to our elegant and finely-crafted system of judgement!
<p>
TIERS OF RENOWN
<p>
  • ANONYMOUS - Nobody knows you in life, nobody's gonna miss you when you're gone. You're just one of the faceless masses, to be used or ignored at the whim of greater beings.
  • UNKNOWN - Well, you've got a few good friends talking you up, at least. You're occasionally brought up in conversation within a city or settlement somewhere.
  • FAMILIAR FACE - Your star is rising! Everyone in a large city or remote planet knows your name, but be careful not to get buried in the news cycles.
  • LOCAL HERO - The holonet is aware of your presence, for better or worse. Planetary societies discuss your feats and your growing legend, now get out there and make some noise!
  • CELEBRITY - Now we're getting somewhere! Whole sectors of the galaxy know who you are and recognize you on sight; whether this is a good thing or a bad thing, depends on what you've done and which sector you're in. Good luck and don't let it go to your head! Local authorities might want to question or shoot you, so watch your step.
  • PRESTIGIOUS - Who've you pissed off, cully? One or more of the major factions knows your name and face, and probably your life story is on file somewhere. They might send bounty hunters, assassins, or ambassadors after you, and you are a considerable force in your own right.
  • LIVING LEGEND - Everybody knows who you are, and your every move is breathlessly talked about in every corner of every society. Your legend has taken over the holonet, and you can't go anywhere without instant recognition. You can't get this far without impressing one of the major factions, and pissing off the others to the point that they'd mobilize entire armies and navies to deal with you. You're probably the big boss of the faction yourself, so go forth and make waves!

<div class="gtemp-one"><div class="gtemp-two">Missions</div><div class="gtemp-three">WHAT ARE THEY? WHO GETS THEM?</div></div>
<Div class="gtemp-four">

In order for staff to better keep track of everyone's characters and their advancement, the staff have decided to centralize all missions and events here in this subforum. Missions are threads DMed by one of our staff members to provide both a challenge and insure that standards for a development are met. Players need only request a mission and desired reward, and one of our staff will create a thread.
<br><br>
So, what sort of stuff requires a mission or event? At the moment it is REQUIRED that any notable Force powers be learned or acquired during a mission (see HERE for a non-exhaustive list of powers one can potentially accrue). Basic powers are either learned automatically as one levels up in Force control or can be otherwise self-taught; regardless, all character developments large or small must be documented and applied for HERE, and a staff member will review and add it to your sheet upon approval.
<br><br>
What if your character isn't a Force user? Most characters won't possess the Force, so there's something for non-Force-using characters (or NFUs for short) here too. If you want to earn a powerful feat, rare or powerful gear, or make a significant change to your masteries, FUs and NFUs alike can apply for a mission and attempt to earn the desired reward. The stronger the feat or item, and the more significant the upgrade regardless of what specific type it is, the more you'll have to work for it; staff will look for quality writing, tense situations, and genuine character development over the course of these missions, and if we feel you're not living up to our standards, we'll let you know.
<br><br>
What happens after the mission? If the reward was something simple or easy, chances are you'll get it, and staff will edit your character's sheet with the new addition. But if you were seeking something deeper or more meaningful, staff will review your mission and decide whether or not it warranted the desired reward. If we decide you fell short, we'll try and work with you to figure out some smaller but still appropriate upgrade to your character; we're players too, and we hate to see good action and development go to waste!
<br><br>
Is there anything else worth knowing? Please don't abuse the missions system, or spam requests and developments. We're looking to tell a story, not win a game; it's not about winning or losing, but about the journey to get there. Staff will reserve the right to deny mission requests, and at any time a staff member may intervene into a mission to raise the stakes or make the challenge heavier. The point is for everyone to have fun, in a fair and engaging way, and that's what the staff team will be trying to encourage!
